What are Jessica's qualifications for performing at weddings?

Jessica has been playing violin for 17 years.  She has performed in many orchestral ensembles, as well as solo recitals.  Jessica has over 10 years of vocal performing experience in many different settings including solo recitals, concerts, musicals, memorial services, and weddings.  She has been singing all her life, but she began to formally study voice in college.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Centre College, ranked among the U.S. News top 50 national liberal arts colleges.

How do I choose the music for my ceremony?

First you should speak with your officiant about any musical restrictions they may have.  (He or she may not allow secular music in a religious ceremony.)  Then remember, this is your special day!  Choose songs that you connect with and that hold special meaning to you.  If you need help deciding, Jessica would be more than happy to give you some suggestions and work with you to find the perfect songs.

Is solo violin all I need, or should I hire other musicians?  Can Jessica assist me with that?

Solo violin without accompaniment is very stunning and elegant.  The violin is also beautiful when played along with other instruments, such as piano, guitar, or harp.  Jessica can help you make the best decision based on your ceremony location, number of guests, and budget.  Jessica often uses a regular pianist to accompany her, but she is more than happy to work with any musicians you choose.

Does Jessica have experience as a cantor?

Yes, Jessica is very comfortable serving as a cantor for Catholic Mass ceremonies.

What are Jessica's rates?

Jessica's rates vary depending on the type of wedding ceremony or event.  Jessica typically charges per event, not per song.  This allows you more flexibility in making your song selections.  Please contact Jessica for current rate information.

How do I pay Jessica for her services?

Jessica requests a deposit of 50% down when you sign a simple contract to reserve your date.  The remaining balance must be paid on or before your wedding day.  She prefers that you pay before the ceremony, in case she needs to leave immediately following your ceremony to perform at another wedding or event.

Does Jessica need to attend my rehearsal?

It is not necessary for Jessica to attend your rehearsal.  She has a great deal of experience in performing at weddings and can ensure that everything will run smoothly.  If you and your wedding party feel more comfortable rehearsing with the music, Jessica would be glad to attend for an additional fee.  Please check with your officiant first to make sure that he or she will allow music at the rehearsal.
